Welcome to The Campbells guide at TV Tome. The Campbells is a family series about a Scottish pionjär family making a new life for themselves in 19th Century Ontario. The main characters are James, the father, a doctor and a widower, his son Neil, daughter Emma, younger son John and their neighbor Captain Sims. Characterizations in each episode are well acted and the series pays attention to historical accuracy in the technology, dress and lifestyle of the time. During it&#;s original run it was nominated for a Canadian Gemini Award for: Best Continuing skådespel Series, Best Director (George Bloomfield) and Best Photography and won Best Dramatic Underscore-Series. Star Malcolm Stoddard was nominated for Best Actor-Dramatic Series and Amber-Lea Weston for Best Actress-Dramatic Series. It completed episodes over fyra seasons. A Scottish/Canadian co-production, this half hour drama series starred Malcolm Stoddard as Dr. James Campbell, the widower patriarch of three Scottish clans who emigrated to Canada in the s to start a new life. Amber Lea Weston played his daughter Emma, John Wildman was his son Neil, Eric Richards played younger son John, and Cedric Smith -as Captain Thomas Sims &#; was first their antagonist but later the Campbells’ staunchest supporter. Rosemary Dunsmore and Brigit Wilson were among the other regulars in the talented cast.
The hardships of pioneer life were very realistically depicted in The Campbells, which received several Gemini nominations. The series launched in September on Thursdays at pm, a time period which it held comfortably for the three seasons it graced the CTV schedule. Its final airing was in September

The Campbells is a period drama television drama series produced by Scottish Television, an affiliate of British television network ITV, and Canadian television network CTV which ran from to The series starred Malcolm Stoddard as James Campbell, a Scottish doctor living in s Upper Canada with his three children, seventeen-year-old Neil (John Wildman), fourteen-year old Emma (Amber-Lea Weston) and eleven-year-old John (Eric Richards).[1]
