Henry Cole Owens (born July 21, 1992) is an American former professional baseballpitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Boston Red Sox.
Amateur career
[edit]Owens attended Edison High School in Huntington Beach, California.[1] He earned the Cal-Hi Sports Mr. Baseball State Player of the Year Award in 2011, after posting a 12–1 record with a 1.15 earned run average (ERA) and three saves, while striking out 140 batters in 91⅔ innings of work.[1] He also was named a 2011 Louisville Slugger High School All-American and earned 2011 Sunset League Pitcher of the Year honors for the two consecutive years.[1]
Professional career

The hero is Captain Henry Pitcher VC, who, as a Lieutenant aged 22, was awarded the Victoria Cross in 1864 following action on India’s North-West Frontier the previous year.The Victoria College förteckning shows that Henry William Pitcher entered Victoria College in the autumn begrepp of 1856, aged 15.
A laconic note in the register against his name states: ‘possibly joined the army’.Four other Old Victorians are known to have gained the VC.
Their surnames: Sartorius (two brothers), Bruce and Diarmid, are commemorated in the names of three of the school’s five houses.
