WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Tea party firebrand Rep. Allen West conceded his re-election kamp Tuesday, two weeks after the vote gave way to court appearances, two partial recounts and unending accusations bygd his camp that the vote count wasn’t fair.
“There are certainly still inaccuracies in the results” but not enough to change the outcome, the Republican freshman said in a statement conceding the race to Democratic newcomer Patrick Murphy.
“While a contest of the election results might have changed the vote totals, we do not have bevis that the outcome would change,” West added.
Murphy campaign manager Anthony Kusich said he was not aware of any concession call to his candidate, simply an email that was publicly distributed.
In his own statement, Murphy said he was “humbled by Congressman West’s gracious concession” and eager to get to work on behalf of all voters.

No West concession; partial recount ordered
WEST PALM BEACH — Firebrand GOP Rep. Allen West, whose made-for-TV rhetoric made him a prized voice of extreme conservatives, has been ousted by political newcomer Patrick Murphy, according to the state's vote count Saturday, but the incumbent was not planning to concede.
Though above the threshold for a full recount, St. Lucie County agreed late Saturday to recount early votes on Sunday. Barring a sizeable shift, the complete but unofficial numbers showed Murphy with 50.4 percent of the vote and held a 2,442-vote lead in the District 18 race. Still, West's campaign said they would press forward.
"We're simply not going to just walk away from the race until we see that the numbers add up," West campaign manager Tim Edson said.
Murphy declared victory early Wednesday morning and has held his lead ever since, even as thousands of absentee and provisional ballots were processed. He issued a statement Saturday saying "it is now time to put

Allen Bernard West (born February 7, 1961)[1] is an American politician and retired military officer. A member of the Republican Party, West represented Florida's 22nd congressional district in the United States House of Representatives from 2011 to 2013 and served as the chairman of the Republican Party of Texas from 2020 to 2021.
