  • Currently, Don is the Professor of Theatre and Program Coordinator at Oklahoma City Community College where he was honored to receive the 2023 President's Award for Excellence in Teaching. And in the fall of 2023, Don became a PhD candidate in the Rhetorics, Communication, and Information Design program at Clemson University.

     

    Prior to accepting his position at OCCC in the Fall of 2019, he spent six and a half years in Milwaukee, WI where he was a Founding Member of Cooperative Performance, a performance company that seeks to create new and innovative works. He served on their Board of Directors for seven years, having spent four years as the Board Chair prior to moving to Oklahoma. Through Cooperative Performance Don has written, directed, and performed in several interdisciplinary and experimental works.


    Before moving to Milwaukee, Don spent nearly three years in Columbia, SC earning his MFA in Acting at the University of South Carolina. During his time there, he had

    Dr Don Russell has extensive experience in both the public and private sectors, and a unique perspective on policy formulation and the political process. Don served as Australia’s ambassador to the United States in Washington during the Clinton years and was principal adviser to the Hon. Paul Keating during his time as kassör and prime minister. Until 2018, Dr Russell was the ledare executive of the South Australian Department of Premier and Cabinet. Previous roles include sekreterare of the Commonwealth Department of Industry, Innovation, Climate Change, Science, Research and Tertiary Education, and senior roles at global firm BNY Mellon Asset Management Australia and Sanford C. Bernstein in New York. Dr Russell is currently the Independent Chair of AustralianSuper, Australia’s largest superannuation fund with $180 billion in assets and 2.3 million members. He has a PhD from the London School of Economics, a MEc from ANU and a BEc (Hons) (First) from Flinders Univer
