Jed Wentz
Jed Alan Wentz was born on July 1st in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.. He entered Oberlin Conservatory of Music in and received his Bachelor of Music in with modern and historical flutes as his major. He there followed courses on music, European history, religion, art history and English and French literature. His postgraduate education was a specialisation in performance on 18th-century flutes at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, where Barthold Kuijken was his teacher.
Jed Wentz has been a teacher himself since He taught at the Conservatory of Hilversum, Conservatoire National de Région de Caen, the Royal Academy of Music in London. He currently teaches courses related to early music at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and the Royal Conservatory of the Hague. Besides this, guest teaching, master classes and lectures have been given by him at a.o. the Hochschule für Künste Bremen, The Curtis Institute, University of North Texas Denton, Oberlin Conservatory of Music,

He is a flautist, conductor and teacher born Jed Alan Wentz in New Brighton, Pennsylvania who started to study the flute in Youngstown, Ohio and went on to take further studies in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was a student of the historical and modern flute at Oberlin Conservatory in Ohio in , where he gained his Bachelor of Music degree in , before gaining a Master&#;s degree at the Royal Conservatory of Music in the Hague, Netherlands in He has gone on to study for his doctorate at Leiden University on the subject of the relationship between 18th century staging and tempo in the tragedie en musique.
After becoming a professional musician he performed as a recitalist and soloist during the s and went on to work with Barrockorchester Stuttgart, De Nederlandse Bachvereniging, Gabrieli Concert, Les Musiciens du Louvre and Musica Antiqua Koln among others. He went on to spend much of his time as a conductor.
